The Comprehensive History of 4simpleproblems (4SP):
Technical Documentation & Logs.

LAST UPDATED: JAN 26, 2026

This document serves as the technical history of 4simpleproblems (4SP).

It chronicles the development of the project born from adolescent ingenuity and the need for digital access.

It details the evolution of the platform from a basic soundboard into a sophisticated, decentralized ecosystem serving hundreds of users globally.

This documentation explores every iteration of 4SP—from V1 to V5 MAX and the Downloadable Version (DV).

Included are analyses of technical strategies, network restriction countermeasures, and development milestones.

Information herein is derived from project files, git commit histories, and internal logs to provide a comprehensive account.

The early versions of 4SP established the project's foundational identity.

V1: The First Shot (March 2025)

V1 was a simple soundboard designed to provide entertainment within a filtered network environment.

Its simplicity allowed it to remain engaging and shareable without immediately triggering network security alarms.

V2: Expansion (April 2025)

This update significantly expanded the platform to include browser-based games and a web proxy.

V2 introduced "jumbled iframes" as an obfuscation technique.

By nesting content within complex iframe structures, V2 made it difficult for crawlers to categorize the page content.

V3: Strategic Redesign (May 2025)

V3 was a complete redesign, prioritizing user experience (UX) over raw functionality.

The chaotic layout of V2 was replaced with a polished, professional interface.

V4: The Dashboard (August 2025)

V4 featured a library of over 1,000 games, functioning as a comprehensive digital arcade.

On October 10th, 2025, V4 was blocked. This event, known as the first "great block," catalyzed a radical architectural transformation towards decentralization.

The blocking of V4 necessitated a new approach found in V5.

V5: The Rebuild (December 2025)

It was a complete rewrite of the codebase, utilizing a modern tech stack on GitHub Pages.

A robust authentication system was implemented, enabling user accounts and data persistence.

However, on December 16, 2025, V5 was also blocked.

V5 DV & MAX: Local Execution (January 2026)

The Downloadable Version (DV) implemented the decentralized concept; by running locally, the central point of failure was removed.

The `4sp-max` file structure includes modules for user administration (`ban-enforcer.js`) and client-side manipulation.

This strategy resulted in a significant increase in the user base, growing to over 380 active users.

The 4SP project represents a significant technical achievement, tracking growth in technical skill and strategic planning.

The strategy of using local files and official repositories (npm) constituted effective "shadow IT," building an immune infrastructure.

The project timeline reflects the work of a student managing real-world pressures while maintaining a complex system.

User growth and origin analysis demonstrate the project's global reach, expanding far beyond its local origins.

Growth Metrics

A massive influx of users occurred between December 3rd and 5th following the V5 launch.

Despite blocks, the user base remained stable, indicating high retention.

The unblockable nature of the DV decoupled growth from website uptime.

Geographic Distribution (Generalized)

While the project originated in Northeast Ohio, data reveals a widespread network of users.

Countries

  • Spain
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

U.S. States

  • Arizona
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Minnesota
  • Ohio
  • Rhode Island
  • Texas
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin

Plus a significant number of unverified users via generic email providers.

4SP demonstrates the ability of independent development to challenge established restrictions.

Data confirms the project was not only successful but dominant in its niche.

The legacy lies in the established code base, the community built, and the preservation of digital access.
